I am so very thankful that I have a job that allows me to express my creativity and craft and at the same time, brings beautiful individuals and families into my life. Taking photos with Wendy is such a different experience. It all starts with the setting. She has a unique way of hunting down local backdrops that provide a background TEXTURE to your portrait, framing the subject in such a way that it almost doesn’t need a frame. I have never seen anyone else do that so well. What a gift. This texture, combined with her eye for angles and light, creates a compelling composition. But, it gets even better: Because she is super-fun and relaxed, she make her subjects feel fun and relaxed — and that TOTALLY translates to the lens. Wendy is not only an amazing photographer, she is a beautiful and amazing soul. She listened to our vision and created the most amazing images for our family. It was such a pleasure to work with Wendy. She photographed our newborn son, Graham, when he was just 10 days old. Wendy came to our house, prepared with lots of great props, and set up a mini-studio right in our kitchen. I was really impressed by how patient she was as she worked with Graham, getting him into the cutest of poses. She’s clearly an expert with handling and photographing newborns. Wendy had an edited photo for us to see that day and worked quickly to produce a great final product–one that we are excited to have as a special keepsake and to share with our family as treasured gifts.
